In such an ever-changing world filled with distraction, doubt, and influence, the environment we surround ourselves and our children with is crucial to ensure growth and mindfulness. This statement rings especially true for young girls and the importance of self-worth, confidence, and empowerment. We've come a long way in terms of independence and accomplishments that have surpassed our wildest dreams. But there is still a whole new generation of young girls faced with so many challenges in their journey towards womanhood. For entrepreneur and mother Lakeesha, the concept of building a level of self-love and confidence was never widespread throughout her early childhood and teenage years. Like many girls starting out in the world, she often struggled with negative self-talk and the feeling of not being enough. While some girls grow up to later establish this foundation of confidence and belonging, Lakeesha leaned on her faith for guidance and resilience.

OUR WHY

In 2010, Lakeesha's entire life transformed with the birth of her daughter, allowing her to see a new perspective through the eyes of a beautiful little girl. It was at that moment that she made it her mission to cultivate a psychologically safe environment where her daughter will always feel worthy of love and the confidence to achieve her ideas. Placing God at the forefront of their lives, she has continued to showcase the importance of what truly matters and navigate with grace, compassion, and kindness every step of the way. Lakeesha has aligned her parenting through this mission. She has focused on instilling confidence in her daughter in a way that makes her safe, seen, and empowered to make informed decisions while keeping God as a priority. With the pride she has experienced in raising such an incredible young lady, she began thinking about other parents and their road to confidence building for their own daughters. There are so many powerful messages that can help girls internalize their self-worth, and with the rise in technology and social media, those messages can be easily blocked by harmful ones. In an effort to promote encouragement, self-respect, kindness, and confidence for not only her own daughter but everyone's daughters, Lakeesha started SheFaith. This faith-based apparel and accessories brand is visually catered towards girls and preteens to ignite intentional messaging while also supplying accessible items that parents approve.
